How we Scored a Luxurious Stay on the
Sunborn Yacht Hotel for Half the Price
Angela had always dreamed of staying on the luxurious *Sunborn Yacht Hotel* in Custom House, London. With its proximity to City Airport, the Excel Center, and City Hall, this floating hotel had been on her radar for years. However, with prices typically around £240 per night, we found it hard to justify the expense.
After years of watching and waiting, Angela discovered a key strategy: booking mid-week and checking prices about two weeks in advance could lower the cost to as little as £130 per night. She used *Booking.com* regularly to monitor the rates and, thanks to the platform's loyalty program, she was able to secure an even better deal—complete with breakfast and no special conditions.
When Angela found the perfect price, she booked through the app two weeks ahead. The process was simple, and upon arrival, she was delighted to be upgraded to what she would describe as a suite—a large cabin with a sitting area that provided the luxury and comfort she had hoped for.
The Sunborn Yacht Hotel is ideally located, but we weren't able to explore much of the area due to Angela having just had a tooth extraction. Still, we imagined how fun it would have been to ride the nearby cable car across the river to the 02. Despite her recovery, the service at the hotel was excellent. When ANgela asked for salt for her dentist-prescribed saltwater rinse, the staff happily provided it, which she appreciated during her stay.
Although Angela couldn’t take full advantage of the hotel’s amenities, we found the experience to be fantastic. The only thing that could have made it better would be if the Sunborn actually set sail—it felt so much like a cruise!
For anyone looking to experience the luxury of a superyacht without paying full price, Angela recommends being flexible, tracking prices, and booking mid-week. Our stay on the Sunborn Yacht Hotel was a bucket-list experience at a fraction of the usual cost, and we'd recommend this strategy to other travelers.
Now that this is in third person, let me know if you'd like any adjustments, and we can proceed with the Instagram value post!
